A couple of my friends and my brother and I participate in a one-weekend fly fishing trip a month. It’s nothing crazy, just a couple of hours from where we’re from. We usually leave around noon on a Friday and come back on Sunday evening. 

I had been the last of the crew to take up fly fishing. After much peer pressure, I finally gave in. I was getting close to going on my 6th trip. Most of the places we went to had places to rent equipment from, and that’s what I did pretty much every time.  

At this point, it was costing me more to rent stuff than it would have if I just bought my own equipment. With what I’d spent I probably could have bought 2 fly fishing rods by now, plus all of the other stuff that goes with it. It really made no sense.

I decided to take the leap one day, a couple of weeks before our next trip. All of my friends got their gear through Trouts Fly Fishing. I obviously trusted their judgment, so I went ahead and looked through their website. I was really happy with what I found. They had so much to choose from, and I was able to make an informed decision on everything I looked at before purchasing it.

I ended up ordering everything I needed, and then some. It never hurts to have extra stuff, just in case. Plus, it was probably like the male equivalent of shopping at Target. It was really hard for me to resist a lot of the stuff. 

I had to check with my one friend to make sure he had room to store the extra fishing rod since we were riding together. Luckily he did, so I was just about to set to go. 

When the trip commenced, my friends were all thoroughly impressed that I committed myself to one fishing rod. Honestly, I wished I had done it sooner. I’m not sure what stopped me. 

As usual, we had a blast on our fishing trip. They’re short, but they’re just enough to do some serious unwinding. It’s perfect for recharging and reducing stress. I think everyone should give it a try. Getting away and taking part in a sport that’s relaxing is really where it’s at. 

I’m super stoked that I found a great place through the advice of my friends. I’ve only been purchasing my other fly fishing needs from Trouts Fly Fishing too. I’m really happy with the company and won’t go anywhere else.
