How Long Is The Physical Therapy Board Exam?

Physical Therapy Board Exam

Have you been recently injured or have pre-existing conditions that require physical therapy. Well there are many things that happen once you go to the physical therapist. There are a few requirements that must be met before the board exam. The first thing is to arrive 30 minutes before your exam. Two forms are acceptable for your identification.

A state issued ID or government issued ID (passport, drivers license etc) also you will need to have a printed documentation of containing a signature such as a credit card. Your first and last name must match exactly how it is on the identification.

There at the clinic they will take a photo and fingerprint. As for when you leave and enter the testing center you will have to do a fingerprint at each exit or entry. Also all testing will be videotaped.

The npte practice questions are a very helpful tool to look over before the test. The test will be divided into two parts. The first part will be 250 questions on the PT exam and 200 on the PTA exam. The duration for the PT exam will be 5 hours and the PTA 4 hours. The appointment times will be half an hour longer because there will be a 15 minute break during the testing.

The break will occur after section two has been completed. During the break you will not be allowed to view any electronic devices due to cheating. The exam will be taken on a computer and no computer experience is needed. There will be a short tutorial on how to operate the test. You’re allowed to return to questions that you wish to answer later. The software has the system to allow users to return to old questions that they could be stuck on.

There will be an area where you can grab scratch paper if that helps. You’re not allowed to bring in your own scratch paper. Lockers will be provided to store electronic devices. There are no food and beverage allowed in the testing center. You’re allowed to use ear plugs but not earphones. These ear plugs will be inspected before you’re allowed to enter the testing center. This can help neglect the distractions when others get up to leave.

The npte practice questions can be found on fsbpt website. These questions are similar to the ones that will be on the test. These questions are great study tools. Testing can be stressful and nerve wracking but try to remain calm and take deep breaths. If you don’t know the answer to the question save it for later and continue on with the test.

Take your time during the test you have 4 to 5 hours. If your computer happens to malfunction during the exam, locate the nearest employee and let them know you’re having problems. If there are any disruptions that last less than 60 minutes you will be expected to finish the exam that day. If the delay lasts longer than the 60 minutes you will have the option to reschedule the exam.

The amount of time the exam will take will depend on if you’re testing for your PT or PTA. The PT exam will have a duration of five hours. The PTA exam will have a duration of 4 hours. There will be a 15 minute break during the test. Lastly look over the practice questions as they will help you prepare for the exam.
